The Toy Town Live Journal series focuses on things such as non-toxic properties, environmental impact, and creative solutions. The series will also trace the important aspects considered in the development of toys. The videos will also address any challenges and innovations involved from a professional perspective so that viewers can be educated on the multiple stages of such a process.
We designed and developed a prototype toy which was modeled keeping in mind the experiences and preferences of the target group of children. In doing so, we used a new approach to engineering, which incorporates the perspective of the marginalized communities for whom the toy is made through participatory planning.
Donate to the Toy Town Fundraiser and help Shumee support NGO Sandesh in their work towards providing children with special needs the care and support they need.
After the development of the prototype, Toy Town successfully organised a distribution drive to deliver 50 of the newly developed toys to the children at Sandesh with the help of the Shumee team. In addition to the toy distribution, Shumee and Toy Town were also able to plan and install a sensory room which included equipment to activate and develop the basic senses of sight, sound, touch, and smell through things like grass mats, swings, art installations, and diffusers.
